Race Against Climate Change

Formula E

Formula E is the world’s first fully-electric racing series, bringing electrifying street racing to some of the world’s leading cities and competing against the backdrop of iconic skylines such as London, New York, Paris and Rome.

Formula E is a competitive platform to test and develop road-relevant technologies, acting as a catalyst for sustainable mobility solutions - helping refine the design and functionality of electric vehicle components and improving the driving experience for everyday road car users all over the world.

Envision and Formula E

Since season 5, Envision has become the owner of Envision Virgin Racing. Formula E is not about horsepower, but the power of computing, and Envision will support the team with AI, big data management, IoT and cloud computing to win the race against climate change.

Season Six Challenger

At Envision, our mission is to solve the challenges for a sustainability future. This is something we believe in, and it is in our DNA. Like Formula E, we are committed to accelerating the race against climate change and making the world a better place.

Our Drivers

Robin Frijns

Robin Frijns is a highly accomplished driver, having won in almost every championship that he's competed in to date. Returning to Formula E with the Envision Virgin Racing team in season five, Robin cemented his racing credentials by securing a race win at a treacherous Paris E-Prix. Ending the season on a high, Frijns won the finale in New York City and rounded out the season with a fourth-place finish. The Dutchman remains with the team for a second season and is looking to win again in season six.

Sam Bird

Briton Sam Bird has enjoyed a highly successful career spanning a variety of championships since his karting debut back in 2002. He joined Formula E, and the team, for the inaugural Formula E race in Beijing in 2014 and has competed in every race to date. Bird has proved that he is one of the most competitive out on the track and is one of just two drivers to have recorded victories in every Formula E season. Sam welcomes the return of his home race - the season finale in London - and will be looking to finish on a high, having won in London in a previous season.
